About "KM"

Hello, and welcome to my pretty world.  My name is Katrina and I'm 27, live in 'Nordeast' Minneapolis with my husband and two fat, furry cats and currently a Cosmetology student at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. 

I'm a self-taught artist who's been doing makeup for girlfriends for 11 years.  I keep myself up on trends, products (you should see my bathroom) and techniques, and just recently turned into a "hireable" artist.  In October I began Cosmetology schooling at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis to further my passions into a full-blown career.  It's an exciting life change and I've thoroughly enjoyed learning my new trade.

I'm a slave to beauty, and have been since I was young.  I very clearly remember the many bike trips to Target to buy Covergirl mascara, Lip Smackers Vanilla Frosting gloss and Jane powder.  My parents remember VERY messy bathrooms.  And thus an addict was born.

Doing makeup brings me so much happiness.  Watching someone, especially a bride, take a final look in the mirror and smile is such a thrill; it brings me such joy to see someone discover new beauty in themselves!  And yes, you can partly thank the makeup, but the best part is knowing that it's YOU that's gorgeous, not the bottle.  Very little is more important on a bride's wedding day than feeling stunning and beautiful (a groom is also helpful, but outside of my realm of service).
